“The Silence of Sirens,” an Alondra story set in the winter in Prague, appears in the Shallow Waters: Horror Flash Fiction Anthology (A Series of Supernatural Stories), edited by Joe Mynhardt and published by Crystal Lake in October 2023. The collection was originally published as an ebook called Shallow Waters: A Flash Anthology, volume 1 in June 2019.
“Nightbears,” about fighting the monsters under the bed, appears in Manor of Frights, edited by Emerian Rich and published by HorrorAddicts.net.
“The Devil’s Debt” appeared in Occult Detective Magazine #9, published in February 2023. It’s the first time my characters Alondra DeCourval and the succubus Lorelei cross paths. One of the reviewers thought the story owes a debt to Elmore Leonard!
“Far from Home,” my favorite of the stories I’ve written for the Ladies of Horror Fiction flash project, was published in June 2023. Alondra helps a stranded sea creature find her way home.
“Petrichor Gothic,” the shortest story I’ve written yet appeared online at Spreading the Writers Word by way of the Ladies of Horror Fiction flash project. It was published in May 2023. Alondra seeks out a haunting in Scotland.

- “Guardian of the Golden Gate,” about the deadly lure of the Golden Gate Bridge, was reprinted in Tales of Dread, edited by Lisa Morton. It was published in June 2022. The story originally appeared in Strange California, edited by Jaym Gates and J. Daniel Batt (Falstaff Books/StoryJitsu), April 2017.
- “Elle a Vu un Loup,” set on Michigan’s Mackinac Island during the full moon, appeared in Tales of Nightmares, published in July 2022. The story originally appeared in Weirdbook #40, published in November 2018.
- “Devil in Her Heart” appeared in Angel Leigh McCoy and Alison J. McKenzie’s Tales of Evil, published in October 2022. The story originally appeared in The Fabulist in October 2021. It explores why the Beatles stopped touring in 1966.
- “Still Life with Shattered Glass” appeared in E. S. Magill and Bill Bodden’s Tales of Foreboding. The most popular story I’ve ever written is reprinted from Tales for the Camp Fire: A Charity Anthology Benefiting Wildfire Relief in April 2019.
“A Wondrous Curiosity” was published by the Ladies of Horror Flash Project in July 2022. This time, Alondra discovers there’s a reason when the locals avoid the beach.
“Riders on the Storm” was published by the Ladies of Horror Flash Project in June 2022. This Alondra story is a creepy little fantasy about elemental magic and climate change.
“Zoonosis,” a story not connected to any of my other characters, was published in October 2021. It’s about being a mom and all the constant calculations that run through your head. It appears in the 99 Tiny Terrors anthology, edited by Jennifer Brozek.
“Dumb Supper,” an Alondra story about ghosts and Mardi Gras, was published by the Ladies of Horror Flash Project in March 2021.

“The Rush of Wind” was first published in Flight: Queer Sci Fi’s Third Annual Flash Fiction Contest anthology, published September 2016 by Mischief Corner Books. This is a little flash fiction about Raena and Ariel, characters from my Templar novels, before they were separated by Thallian.
